Managing Skills Tests

Managing Skills Tests

Key Use Case

The Skills Test Template is a module in Wamly that allows you to set up a Multiple Choice technical test the candidates need to complete, that will be automatically scored by Wamly based on their answers. The Skills Test allows you to set a Pass Mark and can also automatically knock out candidates from continuing to the next Stage if they do not pass the skills test.

Project Integration and Flow

  1. Placement in Journey: If activated, the skills test occurs after the candidate completes the application form but before the hardware test for the video interview.
  2. Template Usage: Users select from existing skills test templates managed in the TEMPLATES section.
  3. Randomisation: To ensure integrity, users can choose to randomise all questions or a specific subset, ensuring different candidates see different questions while maintaining the same total count.

Auto-Rejection Logic

One of the most powerful features of the skills test is the ability to automate candidate filtering:
  1. Pass Threshold: The user sets a specific percentage score required to pass.
  2. Automation: Candidates who fail to meet this score can be auto-rejected.
  3. Feedback: A custom rejection message can be added for those who do not pass.
  4. System Behavior: Even if a candidate is auto-rejected at this stage, the system still marks the video interview as "complete" (since the application journey is finished), though no video response will actually exist for that candidate.

Reporting and Data

  1. Filtering: Administrators can filter and sort candidates within the project view based on their skills test scores.
  2. Visibility: In the rater screen, the results of the skills test are visible as part of the candidate's comprehensive profile, though they can be hidden from specific raters via project settings.
  3. Exporting: Skills test results are included in the Full Project Report (Excel format) for further analysis.
