Managing Tags

Managing Tags

Tags are custom labels you can attach to candidate applications to organise, group and filter them (for example flagging “Bilingual”, “Relocating”, or “Priority”). Tags are created and managed centrally, then applied to candidates as they move through your projects.

The dedicated Tags tab lives under My Organisation, which is available to users with the relevant organisation-level permissions (typically Organisation Administrators). Other users may see it but find it locked.

Creating and Managing Tags

The Tags tab (My Organisation > Tags) is the central place to manage all of your organisation's tags.

From here you can create, edit and delete tags. This is separate from removing a tag from an individual candidate, which is done from that candidate's application (see below) and leaves the tag available for others.

Applying Tags to Candidates

You can apply tags directly from a candidate's application screen:

  • Click Add Tags + next to the candidate's name.
  • Select an existing tag from your list, or type a new tag name and click the + button.
  • Click Save to apply the tag.

To tag several candidates at once, select them and use Change Tags in Bulk Actions. In the Manage Tags window you can choose either to replace all existing tags on the selected candidates with the new tag, or add the new tag to their current tags.

Filtering by Tags

  • In All Applications and the project views, use the Tags filter to show only candidates with one or more selected tags.
  • Assigned tags are also shown at the top of each candidate's profile and on candidate rows in the Table and Stage views.

Tags and Automation

If you use webhooks, an event is triggered whenever a candidate's tag(s) change — handy for syncing candidate status to external systems such as a CRM, ATS or HRIS. See the Managing Webhooks guide for detail.
