Product Release: Multi-select Filters & Smarter Checks Are Here! (9 April 2026)

At Wamly, we’re all about making your life easier (and maybe a little more fun). We’ve leveled up your background checks, supercharged your project filters, and polished the UI until it shines. We’ve also squashed those pesky bugs because we care about your sanity.

Background Checks

Tracking your background checks just got a whole lot easier!

  1. Wamly now flags background checks as “action needed” the moment additional information is required, before the check can proceed, so you can clear these hurdles faster.

  1. We’ve added two new statuses to your project filters: “action needed” (for when we need a bit more info) and “processing.” Now you can see exactly where things stand at a glance.
  2. When DOTS requires an additional fee, clicking the action needed status will reveal the cost. Once you choose to accept or reject the charge, we’ll handle the rest and record the details in your transaction history for easy tracking.

  1. You can now submit additional MIE background check information, like student numbers or files such as proof of qualification, right in Wamly when prompted. No more switching between systems.
  2. Did you run the wrong check? We’ve added a “withdraw check” option so you can start a new check immediately.

  1. Provide a reason for the withdrawal and  just a heads-up: Withdrawals are non-refundable because the provider keeps working in the background.
  2. You will be billed for the original check and may still get the results; this feature only lets you bypass the wait and get the right check running right away.

  1. While we were busy making things look better, we added a new sleek collapsible background check modal.
  2. Also to protect the reliability of your results, qualifications are now non-editable while a check is in progress.  (i.e. pending, processing, action needed, or pass). So when you see a warning message, hold your horses.

  1. We heard you were unsure so the qualification card now displays the specific type of check that was performed (for example, "Matric Verification" or "Degree Verification"), making it easier for you to see exactly what was checked for each candidate.
  2. You can now select an existing candidate document when adding or replacing files for checks.
  3. The zoom icon is now live for all document types (PDF, JPG, PNG), because squinting isn’t fun.

We’ve seriously leveled up our filter game!

  1. Project filters can now remember your selections, search and sorting between visits, making your search lightning-fast.
  1. Our new general filter component brings a unified feel and more flexible candidate filtering to the app.
  2. This means you now have multi-select power at your fingertips for all applications, project details, and form fields (gender, nationality). Nice, right?

Other Improvements & Bug Fixes

Stages

  1. The stages tab will also now warn you if a stage name is too long (exceeding 20 characters) and clears previous input when reopening the modal.
  2. Fixed a bug so that default stages for new organisations are now created in the correct order.

Candidate Journey & Wamlyjobs

  1. Candidates can now browse landing and careers pages in in-app browsers, and unsupported browser warnings only appear when they start an application.
  2. We fixed scroll and pagination issues on the Wamlyjobs card list.
  3. We removed tick marks from "Apply now" buttons on job cards for a cleaner look.

Background Checks

  1. Fixed a bug where users could not download uploaded documents (404 error); now, documents are always downloadable.
  2. Wamly now displays an error if a candidate tries to replace a document in an already running check.
  3. Added a fix for MIE Qualification checks that could get stuck in pending.
  4. Long filenames in the qualifications section now wrap or truncate correctly.
  5. Fixed a bug where application text sometimes appeared faded on the All Applications page.
  6. Fixed a bug so that text alignment in project settings is now saved and displayed correctly.

Did you read the whole thing? Well done you! If you need more details don’t hesitate to contact your account manager.

Until next time.
